May 22 Kent County Month-end Narrative
On May 4th, 2022, I attended a virtual webinar given by NIHCM on Mental Health Solutions. This webinar aimed to help participants get mental health at home tips instead of attending a doctor's office.
On May 4-5, 2022, PC/T, along with the Vice President, hosted a table at Central Middle school for all the new incoming students. Over 200 DFFC brochures were distributed to residents to explain our organization and that we are willing to mentor students for the upcoming school year.
On May 6th, I hosted our monthly initiative, a celebration of Motherhood Paint night. Upwards 30 women with families were in attendance and enjoyed a night of painting, food, and interaction. Individuals from each County registered and even spoke highly of the initiative. Renae from Delmar stated, "I will be joining with future events, and I had a phenomenal time as a mother and enjoyed a night of fun."
On May 7th, 2022, I partnered with the PC/T from Sussex County and attended her mother's day initiative in Seaford De. At the event, a speaker gave details on what a good mother looked like and celebrated mothers who were present.
On May 9th, 2022, I partnered with the Sussex County Family Consultant and attended a Meet and Greet at Children Family First. This was in Laurel De., and donuts, coffee and flyers were distributed.
On May 10 - 13, 2022, I attended the MCAP Conference in Ocean City, Maryland. They had a plethora of workshops and up-to-date information in human resources, housing, recruitment, afterschool programming, and state compliances, to name a few. It was well attended with attendants from throughout the USA, and we gleaned and interacted with like-minded individuals with a passion for serving communities.
On May 2, 9, 16th, 23rd I taught the group to DAPI in Kent County, and we concluded our sessions for the year. We regularly had 16 students meet every Monday as students learned from the Understanding Dads curriculum what to expect from fathers and how to be a good Co-Parent.
On May 17th, 2022, I attended the DAPI statewide graduation, and I was awarded the top honorary sponsor for Kent County. We have faithfully been teaching groups there for over three years, and they recognized our continued support to their school and students.
On May 19th, 2022, PC/T was in Georgetown to meet with the program manager, submit requisitions, and discuss future initiatives.
Lastly, on May 26th, 2022, I was at DAPI for an end-of-year celebration for the students, and unfortunately, it was canceled due to the increase of Covid cases statewide. So to remain safe, it was rescheduled, but leadership met to strategize for next year and how we can better serve the students.
